Staycation in Little Italy .

September 29, 2021

Little Italy sounds lovely, right? :) I’ve passed this neighbourhood so many times, but never had a chance to stop and explore what’s around. Yesterday was the day we did it :) My expectations? Good coffee, delicious pastry and an oven pizza. We’ve found it all ;) Even some old corner restaurant with local Italians sitting by the wall and all facing tv. Looked like a stage scene for a movie!

Eight blocks full of discoveries. Lots of thrift stores to go into, some were a bit too tiny to walk in with a stroller so we kept on moving. Pastry by the windows looking so good! Mm~~

Few Japanese restaurants and in one of them you could leave your own chopsticks for next time you will be visiting ;) Pretty neat! I would come back for sure, plus I love the idea of minimizing a waste. Re-use re-use!!

Wind was lifting yellow leaves up to the sky and dancing.

Clouds were jealous and turned dark grey.

Meanwhile Mykolas found his first pizza! Best thin crust pizza!!!!

Finally - last stop to summarize a visit to Little Italy. A drink at the bar with daddy :)

Change of plans .

November 23, 2020

Few months after I got engaged I started to think what kind of wedding I would like and my mind went crazy - I imagined us getting married on top of the mountain, preferably with snow around and I didn’t need anything else. While this seemed unreal at that time, we planned a wedding in Lithuania.

I found this beautiful old mansion and a big yard. Also they offer sleep overs and that’s what I was really looking forward to. I wanted to give a great experience for my new canadian family and friends :) Dreams and plans can be gone very quickly and eventually we decided to postpone our wedding day till 2022.

When thinking about a wedding on top of the mountain I came with a date that seemed very easy to remember 2020-10-10 :) And if you take zeros out you get my b-day, mayyyybe this is too much nerdy ;P Anyway, getting closer to this day we discussed with Youn what shall we do and we made a decission to do a small elopement wedding on top of the mountain (YES!!!) and have a bigger celebration in 2022.

Fingers crossed plan will not be blown away. We started planning and buying our outfits. I have to say the most worrying part for me was ordering shoes. I have an in between shoe size and never know if I should go smaller or bigger. Anyway, shoes were fine, I oredered my wedding outfit on Etsy, flower loop was made locally in Vancouver and jewellry was gifted by Youn’s parents :) I also found cute pink colour boots in case it would be raining and ordered a big clear umbrella on amazon.

We drove to Whistler and checked around 10 spots were we could potentially get married. We wanted an easy access, with a nice view and not too crowded. Of all places Alta lake ended up being our option B in case helicopter will not fly.

Even though in these photos it looks like it’s sunny, mountains were hugged by rain clouds and for some reason we had this beautiful sunny moment for our ceremony :)

I’ve seen one of our brides wearing these Loeffler Randall shoes and from then I knew I want the same shoes on my wedding day! I usually don’t wear heels and was afraid they will be too tall, but I have to say - these are so so comfy!!! Even for someone like me it was very easy to get use to the hight :)

Camping one more time .

September 16, 2019

In a daytime you prep fire wood for the night. You eat miso soup and you take gondola up to the top to enjoy blue mountains and feel a breeze of wind :)

And after all this is done you enjoy sunset by the water and after that you ask a friend with a guitar to play it by the fire :) pretty idyllic scenario that we had on Porteau Cove Provincial Park. It’s a great place to camp but only if you get a spot by the water. During summer time it’s quite hard to reserve spot there but worth the effort. I should mention that this campsite is close to railways and the train only pass campsite at midnight/early morning and it is suuuuuuper loud!

Other than that you can do quick stops to Sea to Sky or Whistler or Murrin Lake Trail ;)

Mini moments .

September 9, 2019

Who we are without love? We love families, we love our pets, partners, friends and we do love our hobbies. Love fulfills inner you and adds quality in your life :)

When my sister was around we did a short bike ride around sea wall and I was happy to show my favourite places in Vancouver and take some shots of her and her bf. Creating love memories :) ♥︎
