Before rain started .

November 25, 2019

Yes, this was one of the last days before the rain caught us on the road. We visited Barkerville - a historic town for Gold Rush days back in the past. The city was named after B.Barker who first struck gold in this location in mid XIX century. He found over 1000kg of gold and the news spread quickly and the town was build quickly as well. Today it’s a historic park and town, were you can try gold panning, walk around the streets, attend some shows and walking tours and even go on some trails around the city.

The most exciting part for us was to find a photography studio and by a miracle take an open spot to get an old school photo of us :) Remember the one we did in Korea? Us wearing hanbook :) Scroll down to see whom we were in a Cariboo Gold Rush days :)

Lac La Hache .

November 24, 2019

Second day on a motorcycle started early in the morning. We stopped at a local bakery to get breakfast and continued our trip towards Lac La Hache.

On the way there we stopped few times. It was really nice surprise at Clinton, where this little town has the biggest antique/thrift stores. My eyes got lost in there, and too bad we were on motorcycle otherwise I would have purchased few items :)

A ride along Green Lake reminded me a landscape of Finland. Lots of small lakes and birch trees :) This random pier was a nice discovery and a cool stop just to enjoy the sunny day :) Who ever built it - thank you :)

BC north we are coming .

September 29, 2019

The wind was going north and so we followed it. How many times we travelled outside Canada but my heart stopped when I saw a blog post on Hello BC with beautiful images of hwy 16. I told Youn ‘we have to do this!’ and we did ;) We spent 7 days on our Honda motorcycle and rode over 2000km to Prince Rupert and then back to Vancouver. I could have not imagine better week then those 7 days. We saw bears, heard wolfs hauling, loonies singing, deers licking tree trunk, swam in the lake because it was hot. I only have memories now, but I remember not caring which week day it is and all I knew was our next stop place. All I wanted to do was get onto motorcycle and just ride, follow the wind and see how the shadow changes and guess what time it was :)

We stopped so many times along the way because it was so beautiful! Rain clouds hugging mountains and changing every minute I couldn’t turn off my camera. Just kept taking one photo after another.

After few hours we reached Seton Lake campsite by Lillooet. On the way there we saw a black bear. Little did we know that the next morning we will see one right from our tent. The black bear was 20m away and we had no idea what should we do. Eventually we unpacked bear spray(totally unprepared!!), got our shoes on and slowly got out of the tent and started walking towards other campers with rv’s. We left the bear wonder around and finally he left. My legs were never that shaky before and after that the spray was always hand reach away from us.

Camping one more time .

September 16, 2019

In a daytime you prep fire wood for the night. You eat miso soup and you take gondola up to the top to enjoy blue mountains and feel a breeze of wind :)

And after all this is done you enjoy sunset by the water and after that you ask a friend with a guitar to play it by the fire :) pretty idyllic scenario that we had on Porteau Cove Provincial Park. It’s a great place to camp but only if you get a spot by the water. During summer time it’s quite hard to reserve spot there but worth the effort. I should mention that this campsite is close to railways and the train only pass campsite at midnight/early morning and it is suuuuuuper loud!

Other than that you can do quick stops to Sea to Sky or Whistler or Murrin Lake Trail ;)
